A plea for salmon!

Before the dam, the Kemijoki River was the largest salmon river in Europe. The largest shareholders in the power plants, Fortum Oyj and UPM-Kymmene Oyj, refuse to build fishways from the sea to the salmon and sea trout spawning grounds. Representatives of the parliamentary parties’ Lapland districts published a petition to restore salmon to the Kemijoki river basin. ”The salmon must be brought back!”
